Objectives: Managing a project is a highly demanding and complex task that requires organization skills, ability to respond to the unexpected, and the ability to monitor progress and change course as needed. Monitoring and controlling a project is the process or activities whereby the project manager tracks, reviews and revises the project activities in order to ensure the project creates the deliverables in accordance with the project objectives. Because of the unique and temporary nature of projects, they require active control. The fact that projects are unique means that the project manager must be creative and flexible, and have the ability to adjust rapidly to changes.
